Sandi Jordan Journal Entries

Spring has sprung, let’s have some fun!

I bought a new swim suit over the weekend, and I am so excited! I’m going to hang it up where I can see it everyday as my motivation! Medifast has made it so easy for me to stay focused, I just throw my packets and a shaker into my carry all bag and head out the door for the day. That way, no matter where I am, I’m prepared! If I know I will be eating out, going to a party or event, I adjust my plan for the day, and make that my Lean & Green meal. It’s all about making smart choices, planning ahead and being prepared!

Stay the course!

Look to the Turtle: Slow and Steady

I’ve already lost 3 pounds and 2% body fat on the Medifast Program! I am so excited to finally see the scale needle move! Now that the weather is starting to get warmer and I’m bringing out the capri’s, shorts and sleeveless shirts, it feels good to know that I’m on my way down. Down the scale, that is!

Before you know it, it will be time to hit the beach and I want to be ready! And the countdown for the Beauties of America Pageant is 16 1/2 weeks! All this gives me the motivation to keep on the Medifast 5 & 1 plan!

Have a good one!

Food Temptations

Whew, what a weekend! It was hard to stay strong! We hosted a group of seven 6th grade girls in our home as part of a church youth group program. Those skinny little ladies can eat anything they want and not worry about a thing! Wish I had their metabolism! (They can also go three days without sleep!)

They had chips, cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, s’mores, soda, and more. I tried to stay away, but it was tough. I finally gave in to half a s’more, but it was just a half! I kept trying to stay focused and stick to my Medifast plan. I think I came out okay in the end!

Watch Me Lose to Win!

Hi! I’m Sandi Jordan and I am so excited to be starting Medifast and representing the Maryland 40’s Division in the Beauties of America Pageant! I have competed in pageants for the past sixteen years, holding several state titles, but never achieving the national title. Now that I’ve hit my forties, keeping in shape has definitely gotten tougher, and before I knew it, I had accumulated some unwanted weight.

Being busy with five children kept me distracted, and then I noticed my clothes starting to get a little too snug. I would really like to do well in the national pageant, this August in Myrtle Beach, SC, and with the help of Medifast, I think I can reach my goal! I would love to lose 20 pounds and raise my scores in the fitness segment of the competition. Competing in pageants has been an awesome experience for me. I have met some wonderful people, and some of my best friends are pageant sisters! I have traveled to places I might not have otherwise visited. Pageants have encouraged me to look inside myself to see who I really am, and to be involved within my community. I think pageants are a healthy form of competition and going to the pageant is like being at “girls camp”! We have make-up seminars, parties, shopping, go out to eat, ride in limos, and get treated like royal celebrities!

My problem is, I’m a stress eater. And life sure can be stressful with five kids, four of them being teenagers! In a year’s time, I will have had two of my children graduate from high school and move on to college. This has been very difficult for me, and I turn to comfort in food. I love pasta and anything chocolate!

But I’m ready for the Medifast Challenge, and I still get to eat chocolate! Medifast chocolate that is!

So follow me on my journey to lose 20 pounds and as I prepare and take part in the Beauties of America Pageant. Please leave me comments of encouragement throughout, and I’ll do my best comment back, we need all of the support we can get.
