IT’S CRUNCH TIME!

The national Beauties of America Pageant is only four weeks away! I am so excited!

So far, slowly but surely, I have dropped one size, and with four weeks to go I know I can drop at least one more! I have been so busy with pageant preparations, as well as working with two of my kids making college preparations. Along with all the other daily jobs! But I just keep my packs from the 5and1 plan, and my shaker, with me at all times and no matter where I am, I just need a bottle of water! It has been so convenient!

Hope you are having a great summer!

Running a 5K

Yes, I did!

Medifast has helped and encouraged me to get in shape and prepare for the Baltimore Women’s Classic 5K Run! I have been doing the Medifast 5 and 1 plan, and getting outside to run consistently. This past weekend, my daughter and I ran the 5K, which is “dedicated to promoting fitness and healthy living among all women, while increasing awareness of women’s health issues.”

I felt great being part of such a worthy cause and being able to complete the run! Not only does dropping a few pounds make you look better, but it’s great for your heart and your over all life! It may not be easy, but your body and your family will thank you for it! Having five children, I want to be a positive role model for them on the importance of taking care of yourself.

Get out and enjoy the day!

IT’S MY BIRTHDAY!

And for my birthday gift from my wild and crazy husband, he took me up 10,000 feet in an airplane and made me jump! It was quite exhilarating, but I don’t think I’ll be making a hobby of it!

Then we went to Gettysburg to have dinner. If I know ahead of time, I can plan to make the meal out my Lean & Green. But I tell you, it sure is easy to get distracted! Everything centers on the eats! Holidays, birthdays, and now we have high school graduation parties! Just have to keep focused and stick to the Medifast Plan! Luckily with Medifast the convenience of the program makes it so much easier to plan your meals and fit them into a busy day.

FOOD FIGHT!

Another holiday behind us! Why is everything about food? Or maybe I only notice it because I’m trying to lose a few pounds! What could I do? It was Mother’s Day and my five great kids decided to make breakfast for me, gingerbread pancakes with chocolate chips in them, eggs & bacon! They also made dinner later on, seafood tacos, garlic mashed potatoes, coconut shrimp, and for dessert chocolate espresso cheesecake with an Oreo crust and toffee chips on top!!!!

How could I resist the wonderful delights made by my children’s’ own hands! All of my absolute favorite dishes! It took them all day to make all this food. I guess they forgot that I was on the Medifast Program.

I tried to stand strong. We use 8″ plates, not the traditional 10″ size, and I only ate half of what I put on my plate. Not great, but at least good. Each day is a new day, we get up and start all over again, putting our right choices back in front of us, and leave yesterday behind.

Have a great day!

Spring has sprung, let’s have some fun!

I bought a new swim suit over the weekend, and I am so excited! I’m going to hang it up where I can see it everyday as my motivation! Medifast has made it so easy for me to stay focused, I just throw my packets and a shaker into my carry all bag and head out the door for the day. That way, no matter where I am, I’m prepared! If I know I will be eating out, going to a party or event, I adjust my plan for the day, and make that my Lean & Green meal. It’s all about making smart choices, planning ahead and being prepared!

Stay the course!

Look to the Turtle: Slow and Steady

I’ve already lost 3 pounds and 2% body fat on the Medifast Program! I am so excited to finally see the scale needle move! Now that the weather is starting to get warmer and I’m bringing out the capri’s, shorts and sleeveless shirts, it feels good to know that I’m on my way down. Down the scale, that is!

Before you know it, it will be time to hit the beach and I want to be ready! And the countdown for the Beauties of America Pageant is 16 1/2 weeks! All this gives me the motivation to keep on the Medifast 5 & 1 plan!

Have a good one!

Food Temptations

Whew, what a weekend! It was hard to stay strong! We hosted a group of seven 6th grade girls in our home as part of a church youth group program. Those skinny little ladies can eat anything they want and not worry about a thing! Wish I had their metabolism! (They can also go three days without sleep!)

They had chips, cookies, doughnuts, ice cream, s’mores, soda, and more. I tried to stay away, but it was tough. I finally gave in to half a s’more, but it was just a half! I kept trying to stay focused and stick to my Medifast plan. I think I came out okay in the end!

Watch Me Lose to Win!

Hi! I’m Sandi Jordan and I am so excited to be starting Medifast and representing the Maryland 40’s Division in the Beauties of America Pageant! I have competed in pageants for the past sixteen years, holding several state titles, but never achieving the national title. Now that I’ve hit my forties, keeping in shape has definitely gotten tougher, and before I knew it, I had accumulated some unwanted weight.

Being busy with five children kept me distracted, and then I noticed my clothes starting to get a little too snug. I would really like to do well in the national pageant, this August in Myrtle Beach, SC, and with the help of Medifast, I think I can reach my goal! I would love to lose 20 pounds and raise my scores in the fitness segment of the competition. Competing in pageants has been an awesome experience for me. I have met some wonderful people, and some of my best friends are pageant sisters! I have traveled to places I might not have otherwise visited. Pageants have encouraged me to look inside myself to see who I really am, and to be involved within my community. I think pageants are a healthy form of competition and going to the pageant is like being at “girls camp”! We have make-up seminars, parties, shopping, go out to eat, ride in limos, and get treated like royal celebrities!

My problem is, I’m a stress eater. And life sure can be stressful with five kids, four of them being teenagers! In a year’s time, I will have had two of my children graduate from high school and move on to college. This has been very difficult for me, and I turn to comfort in food. I love pasta and anything chocolate!

But I’m ready for the Medifast Challenge, and I still get to eat chocolate! Medifast chocolate that is!

So follow me on my journey to lose 20 pounds and as I prepare and take part in the Beauties of America Pageant. Please leave me comments of encouragement throughout, and I’ll do my best comment back, we need all of the support we can get.
