Feeling the love

Hi friends! I will get to my Memorial Day weekend in a moment, but I just wanted to say how much I appreciate all of the kind words and warm fuzzies on this blog from all of you! I truly feel the love and I thank you from the bottom of my heart! This blog is the best motivation!

So, my long weekend went fantastic and as of May 31st I am down 17 lbs! WOOHOO! I went to my mom’s house for a BBQ and she knows I am on Medifast. We made grilled sirloin patties with grilled zucchini and tomatoes, it was amazing and I didn’t even miss the bun. Trust me I am all about the bread, being Italian, I grew up on it.

I concentrated on what Memorial Day really meant, instead of making it into a food and wine fest. In the past I would have downed 3 plates of potato salad, dessert, burgers and whatever else was in reach. Plus a few beers and some wine and then the coma on the couch episode. I felt so good not being stuffed and miserable! I hope all of you had a great long weekend too, if you stayed on the Medifast plan congratulations! Don’t you feel proud?…

A Picture Paints a Thousand Words

Yeah, that’s me at the top of this page, doing what I love best EATING! I don’t like being in pictures, but I am changing my attitude! I started Medifast May 1st and have lost 14.5 lbs! Yes, I will be reporting the .5’s cause I earned them :) I am so excited to lose more weight! A girl at work told me I look skinnier - you know it’s real when other people notice.

I really enjoy the Medifast food and how it teaches you to eat smaller portions more often. The first week was a HUGE adjustment for me, but I stuck with it and am so glad I did! Now I look at food as energy instead of an emotional crutch. I really enjoy my wine too :) but know that once I go into maintenance I will be able to enjoy a glass here and there. That is what this is all about for me, moderation and with Medifast I can do this…

Why I Started Medifast

I am 39 and a single mother of a 9-year-old son. I fell into a depression at the end of last year due to some personal issues and finding out my son has High-Functioning Autism. I turned to food to numb myself from life.

I have always used food as a crutch for everything: happiness, sadness, anything. It gave me instant gratification, but I always felt horrible after I was done stuffing myself. I gained 50 lbs. in 5 months and have decided that I finally need to snap out of it. I refuse to feel awful when I turn 40 in August.

I heard about Medifast and have been lurking on the message boards and blogs for a while. I am amazed at the success stories and decided to order. I started May 1st and already feel changes in my body and attitude! I know this is the program for me…
