Is Medifast a Life-Long Commitment?

I’ve had several people ask me lately if I have to eat only Medifast for the rest of my life to keep my weight down. The answer is no, not unless you want to.

Medifast helps you to lose weight (quickly) by controlled diet. Once you reach your goal weight you will start transition. In transition you will continue to eat your Medifast Meals and gradually add calories back into your diet. Medifast has outlined in awesome detail how to do this. They give you meal plan ideas for the transition phase and maintenance. Read all the information Medifast has to offer

Yup, I have had a couple of times where I put pounds back on. But that was because I was not smart. You cannot go back to eating junk like homemade baked fettuccine alfredo and ice cream every night (even if your skinny boyfriend does). Bad eating habits are how I got to this. Those times that I gained I just jump on the program for a few weeks and off they go!

I have been back on the 5 &1 Plan for 5 days now. In 5 days I’ve lost 5 pounds! That’s not as good as my first 4 days on Medifast, when I lost 9 pounds, but I will take it.

This morning I had to laugh at myself. I had a root beer float for breakfast. OK, so it was a French Vanilla Medifast shake and diet root beer mixed together but reminded me of high school. When I was in high school I would have coffee ice cream for breakfast. I know all too well, bad habits are hard to break. Wish me luck on my next 10 pounds.

Your story has inspired me and I am ordering today. I live just a bit west of Ellicott City, right outside Balto. Can I email you with questions as I start. I am 45 with 3 kids and would like to lose about 20 lbs.

Hi Heather,
I just got my kit and started yesterday. I am a 49 year old Mom and wine consultant.Over the past 10 years I have gained about 20 pounds and will no longer let my family take my picture.I am finally fed up with carrying extra weight, looking and feeling bad. Your story is an inspiration and I too am a friend of a former Teen Idol and have several friends in the LA area. I want to come and visit in a few months, but want to look my best. Especially if I see him while I am there! So here is to day 2 and the ones to come. I will let you know my progress!

Hey Heather,
My name is Mary and i start medifast on the 10th of Sept and i have always struggled with my wight but my question to you is that i am a vegetarian and i was wondering if you could give me tips on foods we can eat while on medifast. I eat like a wheat sandwich with only lettuce and a very little bit of cheese but that is getting old…The morning star chik-n-nuggets are also getting old. If you have any suggestions please let me know. I have lost 4.5 pounds since i have started. Another question is i have a tummy and i was wondering approximately how long do you think it will take to get rid of most of it? Anyways i hope im not bugging you for much information. Thanks for the help.

Hi,

I have been on a plateau for a month. For the last 3 weeks I’ve done only shakes. Still no big weight loss. Does anyone have any suggestions? I’m so frustrated & it’s depressing. Help….

Tee,

Are you eathing every two to three hours? If so, maybe a little more exercise would be helpful. Good luck.
