Curses on Girl Scout Cookies

All I have to say is curses to the Girl Scout cookies! Although they are a great group and raise money for a good cause, I could not resist the thin mints! I ate one, then another, then another. So after that, I figured since I had a few cookies why not get some Chinese food for lunch?

Wrong answer! I felt so icky and bloated after eating rice and orange chicken on top of beating myself up for being weak and giving in to temptations. My set-back reminded me of how I feel so much better sticking to Medifast and other good foods and smaller portions.

I gained back 6 lbs. this month and can really feel it! I put too much sugar and carbs back in my system and it threw me off big time! I am back on track today and know that it will take me a few days to get back in ketosis and get back to feeling better, it’s just not worth it to get off track.

I am human and will have those off days but making better food choices needs to be my focus. I need to make sure that my success does not warrant eating anything I want. It needs to be a lifestyle change for me to stay healthy.

I cannot stress it enough - STAY ON TRACK WITH MEDIFAST! If you are in the maintenance phase, make healthy food choices! Like many people have quoted - Nothing tastes as good as thin feels!

Hi Julie, I totally understand what you went through. I also love the mint Girl Scout cookies. This is the first year ever that I haven’t ordered any cookies. Every time I try to eat any food except Medifast, I lose control. It is really hard to forget the old unhealthy eating habits. You are a special person, so please don’t feel to badly. You are an inspiration to us all. We are all going through this together and we are also here for each other. Have a wonderful weekend!!!!!

Hi Julie,
How amazing to log on and read your blog this morning. I have done the same thing except it was Eddy’s ice cream and several dinners out.Life problems have taken a toll these last few weeks and Medifast took a back seat. Although I started out each day on the program by evening I had gone off the path. You are so right about feeling better on Medifast. I like how I feel on Medifast. Physically and mentally. As you say, we are all human but we know what we are doing and what we have done and how to fix it. I am not beating myself up over the backward slide because I know I can get back on Medifast, get back to ketosis and back to weight loss. Your post was just what I needed to read this morning! Back to my oatmeal and Thanks.

Happy Medifast Monday! Hi Susan, Next time I buy those evil cookies I will just put them out for co-workers! You are special too and thank you for the kind words :) Let me know how things are going for you!

Hello Sherri, I had lost a total of 36 lbs. Mintenance really is the key and my binge reminded me of that. How are you doing on the program?

Hey Cheri, I am so happy that I can offer help to people through this blog! I understand the night time struggle all too well. We can get back in the game together! Keep me posted on how your are doing and feeling. I am having oatmeal too!

Oh my goodness everyone, you have to get the chocolate bars! They are sinful :)

how long has it taken u to lose that 36lbs?

7 | Julie said:

Hi Amy, it took me longer than most because I struggled a few times, almost 6 months to lose it give or take a few set backs :) Medifast works if you work it and you have to be ready and stay on track! I love the diet and would recommend it to anyone. Good luck!

Hello,
Abouut those girl scout cookies… I am a troop leader for brownie girl scouts. I am also the cookie mom! Translation - on February 21 I picked up 1056 boxes of cookies for my troop. I did really good and held out until late last week - then I just couldn’t resist anymore. We had about 48 boxes left over, so I had to buy those! Not only did I have to spend about $160 on cookies, but now I am eating them - and lots of them. I had hit a plataue a couple of months ago, and was gaining some back but now I have gained back about 10 of the 51 lbs that I had lost. I still need to lose about 50 lbs more, and am having a really tough time getting back on track - and those cookies are killing me. It’s tempting to just give them away, but then I keep thinking of how much I had to spend on them.

Hi Julie,
Never mind the chocolate ones, try the MINT chocolate ones. They are fabulous and if you nibble them they last so much longer than those thin mint GS cookies and there is no guilt! They are my evening treat. Hanging in there otherwise. Lost a few of the regain and keeping at it. I have new motivation with an up coming girls 50th birthday weekend(not mine been there done that). Plus I have signed up for a three day women’s sailing class so that I can be comfortable sailing my own boat. With out MF and losing 40lbs. I never would have signed up. With weight loss comes confidence. On to the next 30lbs!
