Well, summer is coming to an end, and it’s time to look forward to the fall months. I love fall in Oregon, the trees are so beautiful, and I enjoy taking walks on cool mornings, building a crackling fire and drinking warm drinks. Thank goodness for Medifast hot cocoa and Chai lattes or I would be in trouble! If you haven’t tried these yet you are missing out, they are yummy! I have added the cocoa to my coffee in the morning to satisfy my Starbuck’s mocha craving. It sure beats drinking 600 calories and 35 grams of fat! I was a mocha-maniac!
It is hard to give up those comforts when you start Medifast. I really had to find a happy place before I started this journey. I gave up mochas, wine (I miss you), captain crunch cereal at 11pm, sushi (I miss you most), chips and salsa… well I still have a bit of salsa now and then but it isn’t the same! Oh, and you all know about my favorite burrito joint, I swear I can smell it from my apartment! I read the success stories over and over on Medifast to keep me motivated - it really helps! This blog helps too because I can vent and say I am having a hard time keeping this up! 3 months in with a few slip ups here and there, 28 pounds down. We can do this!
I know it is hard, it can get discouraging… I mean why do other people get to eat sushi and stay slim? The only thing I can think of is that I go overboard and eat too much. I don’t stop when I am full. It’s almost like I can’t get enough. When you treat every meal like it is your last, you are going to gain weight, it’s just that simple. So, Medifast is teaching us how to eat, when to eat and how much to eat.
When I feel I have conquered the weight issue then I can start incorporating the foods I desire back into my life in moderation, feeling satisfied with some but not ALL! I have faced the fact that I will need Medifast 2-3 times a day to stay on track during maintenance (when I get there), and this is fine with me! I am moving forward from today, not dwelling on the fact that others lose faster than me. I am not looking at the number 28. I have 20 (ish) pounds to go and nothing but time to get there
Sorry that I rambled from one subject to the next, but I am having a DAY to say the least! Um yeah…there is a big banana cake with butter cream frosting in our company lunch room… I could seriously dive right into it but I am going for a walk instead and coming back to make a hot cocoa, so there! LOL
Take care everyone and send some comments! Let’s get skinny baby!
