Off to a Great Start!

I am happy to announce that after 2 1/2 weeks on Medifast, I have lost 5 1/2 pounds! YAHOO!!! This in just that short time; way to go to me! This has not been without some minor setbacks as well as some really great moments for myself on the journey to my desired weight and appearance. Because of my busy schedule, traveling to appearances, and not always being able to get my meals in I have had a few “little” throw backs. :-) I am really enjoying the Lean & Green Meals. Lloyd and I prepare all our meals together and it is a great part of my day to sit down and eat so very healthy as well as have some wonderful family time around the dinner table.

The shakes have been great as well. I also love that I can have a bar or a snack when I feel the urge to dip into the “cookie jar” so to speak. The hiking that we do every weekend is adding to my fitness level although we are starting out very slowly so as to not overwork myself in the early stages of my weight-loss program. Having to feed our son Magnus almost every 3-4 hours is the perfect fit for me to eat my meals and not forget. But lets be honest, with me only eating 1000 calories a day do you really think I am going to forget to eat?!? Highly unlikely. :-) I am looking forward to the next few weeks where I can get more physical with my exercise program and just watch those pounds fall away and start fitting into some of my old clothes that have been hanging in the closet just begging for an outing on the town!

Be good, be healthy, and always remember to love yourself through the journey as well as the “you” that is waiting for you at the end of the journey.

Hi Kristey,

Way to go I kind of feel like I in the same boat as you. I had a complete hysterectomy on 6-19-07, so I am unable to exercise for 6 weeks8-(.

Anyway my daugther and I always refer to you as the original buffy, we use to have mother/daughter nights and view the series.
(with michele).
I enjoyed watching you on the skating with the stars show. I was disapointed when I heard some nasty rumors, however thats been cleared up.

I have not received my medifast yet it should be coming today.

wish me luck.

Dear Kristy,
Way to go! Congratulations!! You’ve gotten off to a really great start.

I started Medifast about a month ago. So far, I’ve lost 25 lbs. I totally understand about the always on the go life. The shakes and bars are a real godsend! They make life much easier.

I’m a busy single mom, who works a lot! Nursing…enough said. My son is 20 yrs old and you would think that my life would be less hectic. It’s the same as always just a different set of worries.

Congratulations on the birth of your son, by the way. I hate to say it but my spoiled siamese kitten is also named Magnus. Enough of that!!! I will say a prayer for you, that you stay on track, that your husband and son are healthy, and that you once again look like the “Buffy” I am so fond of. I love that movie!

Take Care,
Laurie

It’s so refreshing to hear a celebrity talk about their weight loss journey just like the rest of us regular people on the MF message boards and blogs. =] Congraulations on your loss so far! I think the best motivation to NOT cheat is seeing the kind of results you are in such a short period of time. Good luck to you and keep us informed on how it’s going. No matter where we are in terms of starting weight or goal weight, we’re all in the same boat together. =]

Best wishes to you, Kristy! You’ll love Medifast and the support here is awesome :) It’s helped me a lot and I can’t wait until I can say I have 30 more pounds to go! Take care!

Wow! I was surprised to see your blog — you don’t normally hear of any celebreties discussing their weight loss. I have quite a bit more to go than you, so good luck to us both!

Congrats on the great start! Keep it up. You will love MF it is so easy and the boards so addictive. I have a really busy life too and am on the go alot. I have found the trick is planning ahead. Pack those packets! It really makes things easier. Even in resturants while the family eats I can have water for a shake or have one of the hot drinks heated up. People are always willing to help.
Stay in touch with us. There is alot of support and good ideas here. Best of success!

Way to go Kristy!! You are doing awesome.
I can relate to the busy on-the-go schedule. The bars and ready to drink shakes have really helped me when I was in a bind.
Before you know it those pounds will be gone. Can’t wait to read more about your Medifast journey.

I am scared. I need to loose 60 pounds and I am not sure of what to do. I have two small children and I don’t want to do anything that could make me sick. A friend of mine tried Medifast long time ago and lost a lot of weigh but now she has gained it all back, so if I do this diet, does it mean that I will have to be on it for the rest of my life? or can at some point be able to eat regularly? I need help!!!

I want to lose about the same as you. I had my baby LAST September, so my excuse that it’s baby weight just doesn’t fly anymore. At all. I have actually hung my clothes in the closet for me to see everyday to remind myself to be good to myself. Good luck. Sleep when that baby sleeps. It’s the best advice I ever got, and I now have 3 little ones.

I just had a baby in September too! But hey, I’m still going to use baby weight excuse…even though I am actually down to where I was before I had the baby!! And I am ready to get rid of the rest of it.

Congrats Kristy! Keep up the great work! We’ll be doing it along w/you…losing the weight!

I am starting and have about 3x what you have to lose. 5.5lbs in 2.5 weeks is awesome! I can’t wait to see where I will end up in a month or so - I started yesterday. It is so easy!

congrats on your weight loss so far. it is great to see that celebrities are just like us meer mortals. good luck on the rest of your weight loss journey. i’m about halfway (35 to go) and i’ve never felt better. not that it was easy by any means but it was definitely worth some of the sacrifices.

Hi Kristi -

Congrats! I have tried Medifast before and it really worked. I lost 11 pounds in 3 weeks. I went off it though and back to my old bad habits. I’m finally ready to change my lifestyle though and get back to being healthy. I want to lose 20 pounds and I’m starting today! Wish me luck!

Hi Kristi!

Your story is inspiring me to get off my butt and back into shape. I am a filmmaker in LA and I am just finishing up on my debut feature film, a documentary about the pursuit of a dream. (Imagine that!) I am feeling depressed seeing myself on film (so big!) so I’ve decided to do something about it. Medifast is an incredible plan. I used Medifast about a year ago and felt incredible! My energy was even all day and I felt motivated to get out and walk and eventually run. People complimented me everywhere I went, telling me that I looked “healthy”. I went through some personal trials in this past year (and ate horribly and didn’t workout) but I’m past all that and ready to get back into the saddle. My food should be coming this week! I’m excited to be doing this at the same time as you! Woo woo!!!

Keep up the great work!

Hugs,
Lisa Murray in Hollywood :-)

Hi Kristi: I want to say thank you! You have convinced me to go for it. I have recently gain about 20+ lbs in the last 2 1/2 years, and cannot fit into my size 5/6, which is just right for my height. I have fibromyagia and this extra weight is just not good for me to be carrying around. So if you can do it, I know that I can. So many things have changed in my life, some good , some very sad, but I need a new me and that is what I am going for, actually a better me! I will be praying for you and your success with this program. Kindly, Debbie

Kristy -
Thanks for working with the medifast people and posting your blogs. I work in the film business ( behind the scenes) and despite the celebrity aspect you and Genie are an inspiration to me to stick with the program while on set. It is really hard to stay away from those crafty tables and the choices at Catering.

Keep up the good work!
