To the Caribbean on the 5 & 1 Plan

I reread all of your messages last weekend. Your love lifts me up greatly as we travel this Medifast journey. I am recovering from the flu and packing for a trip to the Caribbean for my kids Spring Break.

I am determined to stay on the 5 & 1 Plan during this trip. My counselor gave me a great tip for travel. I bake oatmeal cookies with the recipe on the side of Medifast’s Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal and she advised me to bake the cookies and bring them along if I need a snack. That way I don’t make a bad snack choice at the airport or in the hotel, and the cookies are delicious, you should definitely try them!

Wish me luck on my trip, and I will update you all when I return.

Love,

Genie

Enjoy your trip, Genie - - and take care of that flu. I came down with it in January - JANUARY and still have not fully shaken it!!! Get lots of rest before you go, drink plenty of water and continue with your healthy eating habits - -that should do the trick. Smart idea about the cookies - - they sound tasty - - make sure the kids and the hubby don’t steal them on you!!

Dear Genie,
Your trip sounds wonderful! I hope you, Jonathan and the children have a fantatic time. I have NO doubt that you will stay on the 5-1 plan. Your determination and discipline are inspiring.
Enjoy your time away from the hustle and bustle of ordinary life - relax - unwind. You deserve it.
Safe travels. I can’t wait to hear about your trip when you return.
As always, I send you love and butterflies!
[and a hug for good measure…];-)

Hey, Genie!

I have been a fan of yours since I was 8! I watched the Luke and Laura wedding. I actually got taken out of school, and half the school left at one PM! LOL!

I am so proud of you. No matter how successful one is, weight loss is hard and really down to *you*, in your heart, and not anyone around you.

I have been yo yo dieting my whole life. I think I will give Medifast a try. I have always thought about it, but now is a good time to start. Thanks for the inspiration!

Love,
Michelle

Great idea to pre-bake for travel! I think it’s a great way to eat the Oatmeal on a plane - cookie style, how convenient. Are there other recipe ideas?

Genie - I searched for this blog through the members site so I could leave a response, but being unable to find it, I will leave it here.

So sorry to hear that you’ve been under the weather, sounds like that end of the season bug that likes to creep up. Your trip sounds absolutely fabulous!! Time away from the standard, everyday hustle of life with your family - what a great way to spend Spring Break! I’ve no doubt you will be able to continue your success, even while on vacation.

Keep on doing YOU!!
As Angels remain in flight…

I was on your return flight (the Nassau to DC portion) & wanted to tell you that I loved you as Laura, but your seats were all messed up and your kids were there, so I didn’t want to look like a crazy fan — anyway, you must have done well on your diet in the Bahamas girl… you were looking fab! We stayed at the Ocean Club…it was very nice and relaxing. Spent a day at Atlantis…crazy but fun.

Genie-I’ve been a fan since I was 14; I was at college when “Luke & Laura” got married. The whole campus screamed at the same time when “Scotty” caught the bouquet! What a memory!

Seeing your success with Medifast has compelled me to give it a shot. I only hope I have half the success you’ve achieved. If you have any pointers, I’d love to hear them.

Thanks for putting yourself out there as a wonderful inspiration!

Love,
Caroline
