On My Way!

Wow, I am just melting away! I’ve lost 9 pounds in the last 3 ½ weeks. That’s just under 3 pounds a week!

The 5 & 1 Plan is really kicking in for me. Here’s what I’ve changed:

  • no bars
  • shakes and soups only
  • being diligent about drinking water

Most importantly, I’m now weighing myself only once a week (which is really hard for me). To date, I’ve lost a total of 17 pounds with Medifast - and I feel great!

I just came back from the Take Shape For Life convention in Colorado. What a great experience! I attended informative lectures and cooking classes alongside 400 Health Coaches. It was fabulous! The more I get to know about Medifast, the prouder I am to be associated with the company. So many people using the Medifast Program have turned their lives around and are getting healthy. The support and camaraderie is inspirational and healing.

I’d like to encourage all of you to make use of the network of support offered through Take Shape For Life, a division of Medifast, and to check out their website. You don’t have to go it alone—losing weight can be a great experience when shared with others.

Genie,
You continue to be an inspiration to so many! Congratulations on your success with Medifast; I have tried the sampler box because of you and ordered several boxes of soups and crackers. I’ve battled weight for years and continue to struggle with it.
Your support of this program made me want to try it because your opinion matters to me and if you like it, I figure it must be good. I have been pleasantly surprised with what I’ve ordered thus far, and will continue using Medifast to supplement my weight-loss program.
Thank you for bringing my attention to something that tastes good while being healthy for me!
You are the best and you look MAHVELOUS!!!! :-)
I never thought I’d hear myself say that I’m “loving seeing less of you!” (Smiles)
I hope others feel the same about me!!
I send you butterflies,
Jhill

Genie that is sooo incredible! WAY TO GO! Learning to weigh yourself once a week is a really difficult, but important life habit to learn. Women’s bodies fluctuate so much with fluid retention and hormonal shifts that it can be very disheartening to weigh daily…I learned that lesson the hard way with multiple trips to the peanut butter jar:)
I am so happy that you are doing well , and more importantly doing this for you. You are beautiful no matter what size you are, but you sound so happy and I applaud your hard work and if you feel healthier and happier at a size 6 then go for it. YOU CAN DO THIS!!!!!!

I have to tell you, I was so excited to pull up this site and see your picture here. I’ve been a fan since back in the day eve before Luke and Laura’s wedding. I’ve missed you so and was so happy to see your latest appearance (however brief!)Hope you come back again soon.
Anyway, sorry to say that I thought then, that you look like you put on weight. It was great to see how wonderful you now look again! That was just the incentive I needed to try this plan! I have about 35 lbs that I would like to lose. I’m so happy that you are a spokesperson for medifast! Great going and keep up the good work. I look forward to reading your entries!

Wow, that’s great that you lost 17 pounds already, Genie!

My first Medifast ordered just arrived and I can’t wait to get started. Your messages here have been a great inspiration for me to take charge of my own weight and health.

I’m a longtime fan too and you’ve brought me so many hours of joy from your heartfelt performances. Now, I’m thrilled to be able to share this journey with you.

Thanks so much and hoping to see you back on General Hospital soon.

Congrats Genie! Being a mother, and being a surrogate mother for three couples(total of 7 kids!), working and now going to college full time is stressful and I too just want to dive into that peanut butter at times. Hang in there, your doing great.

Congratulations Genie! You are truly an inspiration. I grew up with you on General Hospital as countless others did in the 70’s and 80’s. I remember that Richard Simmons weight loss/exercise class story line you wrote about in an earlier entry - even then I thought of it as portraying a healthy lifestyle rather than “Laura” needs to lose weight because you were and are so gorgeous and healhty looking!

By the way, I was happily surprised to find out you live in Maine, one of my favorite states. My family grew up vacationing at York and I went to college at Bowdoin in Brunswick. I also remarried seven years ago at York Harbor!

Hi Laura - I have to say I was a fan of yours back when it was Luke and Laura - I was really into the soaps at that time I was thin then, but have gained alot of weight over the years. Different diets took off weight, but put it back on. MF is working for me and I see it working for you - I am down over 56 pounds in almost 14 weeks - I feel great - still have another 60 pounds to go - Thank you for your motivation.

Hi Genie - 17 pounds is fantastic! I agree with you about the bars and I rarely have one so when I do it’s a ‘treat’!

Way to go Genie, you are looking great! As one who is almost 50 and carrying 40 extra pounds I admire your determination.

I hope to see you back on GH soon!

And BTW….I am originally from Maine and most of my family is still there, some are in the Belfast area, but most are way up in Arookstick County.

You fans are all rooting for you and praying that someday soon ‘Luke & Laura’ will once again shine on all of these years later.

I’m so glad to hear you are losing the weight you wanted to lose Genie! I ordered some Medifast a few weeks ago and need to get to using it so I can lose at least ten or fifteen pounds. I have two children like you and after the second one the weight didn’t come off so easy. I would love for you to write a book sometime about your life, GH, your diet, fitness and beauty regime. I have been a GH fan since I was ten years old, I remember when you were first on GH as a young teen (I was a young teen then, too!) Loved you and Tony Geary together, please go back to GH at least part time like Tony does. You deserved that Emmy and I bet you could win another one if you went back. I look forward to more pictures and journal entries, my best to you and your family!
