Nearing My Goal

I have just returned home from filming “The Note”, a Christmas movie for Hallmark Hall of Fame. I had a great time, and it was so nice to go to work again! It will be on TV December 8, 2007; I hope you all will tune in, I think you’ll really enjoy it.

I lost a total of 7 pounds while shooting the movie and I’m now down 28 pounds and am wearing a size 6! While I was in Toronto I actually had to run out to the mall to pick up a new pair of pants that would fit me?. I’m also getting into an exercise regimen again, doing some running and weight training. I really love my workouts. I have tons of energy now, and surprisingly little hunger. I think my eating habits have really changed. My appetite is much smaller and I seem to want the right foods more than the wrong ones. I believe now that appetite is mostly created by habit—and by excluding sugars and white flour, I feel very free of craving. I’m in a very relaxed “Zen” place with food now. It’s really nice.

I go to Los Angeles in a few days to shoot a new commercial for Medifast. It’s always fun to do my wardrobe fitting with Sam (our wardrobe guy). Oh yeah, I got a new haircut too. Life is good, change is the key—and letting go. I’m feeling so hopeful about the future now. I think that’s the most precious gift I’ve received from Medifast.

Keep going and don’t give up before the miracle happens.

Genie,
I was just checking out the Medifast site and had been thinking about you today. As I emptied my cupboards and replaced them with my first Medifast order of foods, I became nervous and excited. Then …I thought of you. We are both the same age, spent my teen years etc watching you. Related to you with your curvy body shape (I’m Italian) and beautiful face..always struggling to be the tall thin girl. YOU are the reason I even considered Medifast. I am so proud of you and your success(career, family and weight loss)!!! If you can do it with all your committments, I know that I can!! I love your blog entry and know that everyone shares in your happiness for your success. Congrats and keep blogging!!!

Dear Genie!
Congratulations my Friend! You are truly an inspiration! Love your haircut and can’t wait to see the movie. Wrote Oprah and asked if she’d have you on her show - give an hour to the movie AND your Medifast success. Your angels go to bat for you any way we can! I’m so proud of you! Size 6! OMG how great you must feel!!!
I continue on my journey. Life is good and getting there, once it all finally clicks, is half the fun.
You hit the nail on the head: change is good and also letting go. Forgiveness comes in the letting go for many things that keep us hindered. Once the letting go happens, the floodgate of blessings open wide. I hope the blessings rain down on you like manna from heaven dear one!
…and on we go…Have a spectacular fall!
I send you love, and butterflies,
Jhill

Hey Genie

You look amazing. I saw a clip of “The Note” on you tube. I’ll tune in for sure. One of my friends likes to rib me about being on the “Genie Francis diet”. I don’t care though because I’ve lost 35 pounds to date. Hmmmm , who’s laughing now ? Anyway, keep up the great work.

Dear Genie,

Yesterday I joined Medifast and my first order is on the way.
I tried some of the other diet programs but just couldn’t stay with it. I am so frustrated that I’ve let myself gain 50 pounds over the last few years.
I happened to be cruising the web when I saw your picture in a pop-up for Medifast and you look just wonderful. I said “Wow, look at Genie Francis, she looks great!”
It was your testimony that made me take the Medifast step. I can really relate to what you say about the “outside world imposing their wishes on me”…ain’t it the truth! I’m not looking to be a size 6 either. Size 8 is fine for me,thankyouverymuch :)

Thank you for inspiring me.

Genie,

Just saw the clip of “The Note” on YouTube (thanks to the last poster for telling us where to find it). The movie looks very interesting and I look forward to watching it. You truly do look amazing - - I would imagine the scene I watched was taped a few weeks ago, so I’m sure you look even more petite now! I also like the tone of your posts very much. It’s great when we can break free from the bonds of “no, I can’t” to “Yes, I can!” It’s truly empowering. Your continued positivity is not only encouraging to those of us reading your posts, but I’m sure it has put smiles on the faces of your family and friends, as well.

Much continued success!

WOW you look so good. I watched you for years and remember in highschool thinking how pretty you were. Even recently when you came back on the guest apparance on General Hospital, although you were heavier, you looked SOO GOOD !!!.. I’m so proud of you . I started the program recently and need to lose 50 lbs. Its so hard to think about but just got my food and can’t wait to start tomorrow. Wish me luck!.. I gained about 10 lbs a year and it crept up and one day I turned 40 and though OMG, look at me!.. So can’t wait to have the success you have had.. WE ARE ALL SO PROUD OF YOU. Cant wait to see you on tv again in the hallmark tv movie.

Hey Genie,I am very glad that you are having such success with the program. I am thinking about starting but I have ALOT of weight to lose and and afraid I will be hungry and blow it at night before I go to bed. (that the weakest time for me) Do you think for someone like me that I will be able to stay on the program?
Would love a reply,
best, Cheryl

Hi Genie,

I’ve decided to join Medifast due to your success with the program. We’re the same age and this may sound crazy, but losing 25-30 pounds gets me back to high school weight, when I was quite thin. I really hope I have the same results, and I’m going to give it the same effort and spirit in order to succeed. I hope your family is doing well. Thanks for the inspiration!

congratulations Genie - I can hear the excitement of success in your words…isn’t it great to have to need those need sizes? Marking Dec 8 on the calendar as I’ve always enjoyed your work!

Genie,
Although I am WAY to young to remember GH, [i was born 10 years after the L&L marriage] my mom told me how she watched it. However, I am a HUGEEEE North and South fan. [We watched it in history class.] Congrats on the weight loss. As soon as I’m able, I defintely plan on visiting The Cherished Home [and I will force my friends to come along, too.]

I hope to watch The Note, but unfortuantely we don’t get the Hallmark Channel down here. Will it come out on DVD or something?

Congrats again! You’re SUCH an inspiration, in N&S and in real life!

Southern Love,
–Bailey

I watched you the other day on the View, I always thought you were beautiful but you astounded me when you walked out. You have inspired me to use this product, I have tried so many and failed on all. I’m 60 lbs overweight and hate it. Seeing your achievement has given me hope.
Thank You, and yes Please come back to General Hospital.

Genie,
I have been such a huge fan of yours since 1980 -I am considerably older than you at 54 and have fought the weight battle all my life. Down 30, up 20, and so it goes. I would love to try Medifast and although I don’t think a size 6 is ever in my future, it would be great to be an 8 or 10! I miss your interaction with Tony, your laugh, and the raw emotional quality you brought to GH! How I would love to see you back there - it certainly is not the same without you. You look fantastic and I am SO happy for you and your family. Maine is certainly a place I’d like to visit when I retire! You deserve every good thing life has to offer after all the years of joy you brought us. I can’t wait until Thursday to see The Note!!! Saw your “apology” - however, none needed! All of us love our angel!

Dear Genie, I have been a fan of yours since I was a teenager. My best friend and I used to rush home every day from middle school to watch you on General Hospital. I feel like I’ve grown up with you. I think you are amazingly beautiful no matter what size you are! I am encouraged by your weight loss, and more importantly your peace with yourself. I wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season. Love, Julie

I’ve always been a huge fan of yours..everything..Bare Escence, North and south…movies…you’re great, but the best is Laura..Anyway, congrads on it all girl!!

Dear Genie,
I Have followed you from the very beginning of General Hospital and I still watch it. When I saw you on tv talking about Medifast I was so happy for you. I have a very good friend who has done Medifast before it became a big thing in magazines and on tv she had alot of great things to say about the products but because I had heard much about Medifast I didn’t know what to think about it. I have decided that as of Jan 2,08 I will be doing the same thing I’m also looking in curves for some exercise . I am looking forward to makeing my life better ..most of all to feel and look better. I’ll keep you posted!
thanks for listening

Genie;
I was saddened because I do not have The HALLMARK CHANNEL; so I have yet to see your movie; ‘THE NOTE’.
I did tell a coworker’s jobcoach about your movie and she told me she cried all the way through the movie!

Genie, I don’t know if I will ever get to meet you before I die in my life, but I want to thank you for being the person you are even though I do not know you personally.

I was in your fan club when I lived in Michigan, and my mom died at the age of 55 of cancer, and I remember she thought of ‘Laura”
as much as I did; how much you have grown as an actress now.

Don’t stop believing in yourself and don’t stop growing as an actress!

I am hoping to get the dvd on your movie whenever it comes out so anyone out there with the resourse to help me please do!

God bless you and your family this Christmas

You look fabulous. I had ordered medifast around the same time you started but for whatever reason I did not start(I did not know you were the spokes person when I ordered)After seeing your success I am motivated again. Congrats on your new
look and more important about the way you feel about everything. It just makes life richer when we can feel good about ourselves “inside and out”. You have been my inspiration to take this journey in Jan.2008
Thanks for your inspiration Genie, and I also hope you return to GH. I am a huge fan,now a grandma who watched with my mom after school(in the 60’s) when Emily McGloghlin and John Bernadino were the stars!
I hope to see you in Maine someday!

Hello Genie
I have watched you for years (GH and North and South as well) and have admired you always. I just ordered the Medifast plan as I have struggled hugely since my teens and more especially in the past 5 or so years. I am a 36 year old single mom, and I hate it when my daughter says “Mommy how come your tummy is squishy today?”. When I saw your picture on the website it was very inspiring, and I can’t wait to get stated on the plan myself. Hopefully this will work and I will feel like putting a SS on this summer! WISH ME LUCK ALL! michelle

Well, the same thing happened to me, except I had to run to the store and buy a larger size trouser. I was devastated! So it is time. Time to get “medifasting” and exercising.Weight has never been a problem, but inactivity is causing havoc. Thanks for being a great role model, Genie and evryone else.
