Needing More Medifast & More Support

I hope you are all doing well and are sailing along on your Medifast Programs. I have, unfortunately, hit a bump. Maybe the let down that always seems to follow a movie, but I find myself struggling again. I worked so hard using Medifast to look great for The Note 2. But, I am slipping back into old patterns, telling myself its okay to indulge in “comfort” foods, that I deserve a break, and that I am taking care of myself.

Wow, what a lie! This is how my addictive personality talks to me, and sometimes I still listen. Why? I know that I am a sugar addict, that there is no such thing as one cookie for me. How do I fall into this trap again? Because I am an emotional eater, and I wasn’t  practicing my spiritual program enough, so I forget who I am, and  my addictive personality is waiting right there to take over.

Whenever I get too self- reliant this happens. I forget that I can’t do this alone. I need to share this journey with others, something so healing happens when we connect with our fellow man. Our load gets lighter, what seemed impossible, just starts getting done.

So on that note, I have ordered more Medifast Meals and I am reaching out to all of you. I would love to hear how you’re doing. I’ll be checking in for your messages, and I will update you on my progress.

Love to all,

Genie

2008 Was Great – Still Work to do in 2009!

2008 was a great year for me, I reached and surpassed my weigh-loss goal. I am trying to redefine what I think a healthy weight is for me now. I still need to rely on my Medifast/Take Shape For Life Health Coach, I am still a work in progress.

As always, I tend to over do things, knowing when to stop is sometimes a problem for me. I would like to learn to be gentler with myself this year, and have a more reasonable relationship with food. This is an ongoing process, we don’t just reach our goal and get struck skinny. We have to maintain a healthy relationship with ourselves.

For me, journaling and reading inspirational literature are excellent tools, but most of all, keeping in touch with my fellow travelers, you. God bless us all in the New Year.

Love,

Genie

The Best I’ve Ever Looked

I have just finished shooting “The Note 2″, and it will air January 31st on the Hallmark Channel. I hope you will watch it! I had an amazing experience while shooting the movie, and the producer even came to me on set and said, “You look great, but don’t loose any more weight!” That’s something I thought I would never hear.

It’s been such a fun journey it is hard to believe that I’ve surpassed my goal. I am so grateful to Medifast for helping me to realize this dream. I think this is the best I have ever looked in my life, and who would have thought I would be able say that at 46! It’s never too late to change your life. I am living proof of that.

Love,

Genie

Now down 43 Pounds!

It’s been a while since I’ve checked in, I’ve been so busy relocating to Los Angeles. The great news is that I not only have maintained my 36 pound weight loss on the Medifast program, I’ve lost another 7 pounds and am down 43 pounds total!! Medifast has changed my life in so many ways, most importantly I am happier and more self confident than ever before.

I was reflecting about this journey with a friend recently and two things jumped out at me at being the key to weight-loss success, 1) Being consistent with my eating plan and, 2) Forgiving yourself when you are not. I’ve learned that it’s what we do 90% of the time that determines our weight. The holiday meal or the once in a while sweet splurge can’t hurt you if you get right back on the program the next day. Life can still be enjoyed, it doesn’t have to be so rigid. It’s all about being consistent and forgiving yourself when you’re not.

I’ll talk to you soon.

Love,

Genie

To the Caribbean on the 5 & 1 Plan

I reread all of your messages last weekend. Your love lifts me up greatly as we travel this Medifast journey. I am recovering from the flu and packing for a trip to the Caribbean for my kids Spring Break.

I am determined to stay on the 5 & 1 Plan during this trip. My counselor gave me a great tip for travel. I bake oatmeal cookies with the recipe on the side of Medifast’s Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal and she advised me to bake the cookies and bring them along if I need a snack. That way I don’t make a bad snack choice at the airport or in the hotel, and the cookies are delicious, you should definitely try them!

Wish me luck on my trip, and I will update you all when I return.

Love,

Genie
